Tea Picking Tour in October!　☆カオサン熱海発 茶摘みツアー 10月編☆

Last time, it was in May that we held our first tea picking tour in Fuji city. It was a meaningfull tour for both guests and staffs.
Our tea picking tour was held with Mr. Honda who is a tea master and has a new sytle of making Japanese tea.
The most attractive point was that we could actually make Japanese tea by traditional method!
前回は5月に茶摘みツアーを開催しました。とても有意義な時間でゲストもスタッフも多いに楽しみました♪
茶摘みは茶師の本多さんに教えていただきました。本多さんはお茶作りにこだわり、新しい日本茶の楽しみ方を提案されているエキスパートです！

First we went to the tea plantation to pick up tea leaves.
まずはじめに茶畑に行きました。

Look at this plantation! When the sky is clear, you can see Mt. Fuji!
360度、素敵な風景が広がり、ただただ癒されます～☆
雲がない時は富士山も間近で見られます！

After that we went back to the tea factory to go on to the next method.
While we were waiting for the tea leaves to be dried, we had Japanese lunch box.
十分茶摘みを堪能した後は、工場へ戻り、次の工程へ移ります。
茶葉を乾燥させている間はしばしの休憩。みんなでお弁当を食べました☆

After about 1 hour, we put all the tea leaves into a gas pan to fry them.
Put on groves and fry them by hand!
約1時間後、茶葉が乾燥してきたところで今度は次の工程です。
釜の中に茶葉を炒れ、手にグローブをはめ、茶葉を炒って行きます。

After a while,we took the tea leaves out, and rolled them on goza mat to make the moisture of leaf equal (goza is like tatami mat but thin).
少し炒った後、今度は茶葉を取り出し、ゴザの上に置き、「手揉み」を行っていきます。
こうすることで茶葉全体に水分がまんべんなく行き渡ります。

When you fry and roll tea leaves, your hands become so smooth and smell so good!
炒り・手揉みをしていると、手がすべすべしてきてとってもいいお茶の香りに包まれます～

After keeping on frying and rolling them few times, the tea leaves got dried.

Everyone looked so happy after making tea by themselves!
