Have you heard about Soup Curry? It definitely is one of the must TRY in Hokkaido . Lately, Chitose is getting colder so we decided to have some curry to warm up our body!! The ingredient (Vegetable and chicken )we used for this curry are all from Hokkaido. Last time, it was in May that we held our first tea picking tour in Fuji city. It was a meaningfull tour for both guests and staffs. Our tea picking tour was held with Mr. Honda who is a tea master and has a new sytle of making Japanese tea. The most attractive point was that we could actually make Japanese tea by traditional method! 前回は5月に茶摘みツアーを開催しました。とても有意義な時間でゲストもスタッフも多いに楽しみました♪ 茶摘みは茶師の本多さんに教えていただきました。本多さんはお茶作りにこだわり、新しい日本茶の楽しみ方を提案されているエキスパートです！ First we went to the tea plantation to pick up tea leaves. まずはじめに茶畑に行きました。 Look at this plantation! When the sky is clear, you can see Mt. Fuji! 360度、素敵な風景が広がり、ただただ癒されます～☆ 雲がない時は富士山も間近で見られます！ After that we went back to the tea factory to go on to the next method. While we were waiting for the tea leaves to be dried, we had Japanese lunch box. 十分茶摘みを堪能した後は、工場へ戻り、次の工程へ移ります。 茶葉を乾燥させている間はしばしの休憩。みんなでお弁当を食べました☆ After about 1 hour, we put all the tea leaves into a gas pan to fry them. Put on groves and fry them by hand! 約1時間後、茶葉が乾燥してきたところで今度は次の工程です。 釜の中に茶葉を炒れ、手にグローブをはめ、茶葉を炒って行きます。 After a while,we took the tea leaves out, and rolled them on goza mat to make the moisture of leaf equal (goza is like tatami mat but thin). 少し炒った後、今度は茶葉を取り出し、ゴザの上に置き、「手揉み」を行っていきます。 こうすることで茶葉全体に水分がまんべんなく行き渡ります。 When you fry and roll tea leaves, your hands become so smooth and smell so good! 炒り・手揉みをしていると、手がすべすべしてきてとってもいいお茶の香りに包まれます～ After keeping on frying and rolling them few times, the tea leaves got dried. Japanese tea time! ティータイム！ Everyone looked so happy after making tea by themselves! 愛情込めて手作りしたお茶は美味しいです♪ You can have your own Japanese tea as a gift. Hello! This is Naoki writing! 2 days ago we had for two of our lovely staff! Hikari and Delphine! Hikari just turned 2x and Delphine just turned 2x! You can just guess the ‘x’, it’s a confidential information and I’m not really authorized to share this with you. Their picture is below so ask them by yourself when you meet them! Delphine’s birthday is actually on 24th while Hikari is on 26th so we decided to have the party on the day between. We had every staff to cook a dish from their countries! We had dishes from Japan, Taiwan, Indonesia, Malaysia, and France! Oh but someone seems to be a bit confused where she’s from because she made a Korean dish...(eventhough she is Japanese). Anyway, all the foods were amazingly good! Everyone is having fun and had their stomach full that night! Take a look at the photos we took that night! Are you the person who wants to go to the major places or wants to go to the minor places for tourists but where locals go? If latter, you should come to Atami because it is an onsen city where Japanese people enjoy to take onsen since Edo period! ☟Shogun is ordering to carry the tank of Atami onsen to Edo(Tokyo) to take onsen in his house. In Japanese, Atami is written like this: '熱海'. If you speak Japanese or Chinese you will notice that it means 'hot sea'. It is said that in ancient times onsen(hot spring) came out from the sea. That is why the city is called 'Atami'. Atami is also famous for the place where many great writers spent their vacations to have relax in the past, and moreover it is famous for the area of villas nowadays. Many events are held in Atami through the year. One of the biggest events is firework festival. You can see firework almost every months and we are going to hold it for 7 days in summer! ☟Yatai(food stand) at the festival The good point to see firework in Atami is that it is not that crowded. It's not because we don't have much tourists in Atami, all the accommodation in Atami is always fully booked, but since this city is on the hill, instead of going to the beach where the festival is going on, you can see firework from the place where you are staying at. Even from your room! Some people say Atami is not very convenient because of the hill slope, but I know that sometimes THAT hill slope makes a good result! We have movies on our Facebook page how we can see firework from our place or at the beach. The slope brought onsen from the hill to every single ryokan (Japanese inn) to let travelers to have relax at their place. If you know the history, your trip will be much more fun and meaningful! Japan is not only for manga, technology, samurai and so on. We have many interesting stories in each cities and towns as your country do!
